Word Paths • Found Words, a Repost

Everyone has a word path. One word leads to another.

Word Paths have  been a Friday feature showcasing possibilities in written words, creative process and artistic pieces from the beginning of my blog. You can go here, to my first post on this project and see how it all started.

I am reposting this blog entry because I found myself thinking about how words present themselves daily and cross your path all time. It is all about "seeing". We are so busy we forget to pay attention. What did you "see"today?

My friend and fellow blogger Lori Moon has a series called Shared Messages from the Universe.
Lori is talented photographer and jewelry artisan.
She photographs found phrases and words she comes across in her travels in the The City.
She shares written signs that have a message that you probably walk past every day.
On her walks, she finds messages on billboards, ads in the subway, store fronts, etc.
My favorite one is here, because what she wrote rings true.

I am very inspired by words as you know.
I live in the country and I laugh about this series in a good way
because if I ever attempted to do the same my slate would read:

Children at play
Men at work
One lane road ahead
School bus stop ahead
For Sale
frost heaves
yield
CVS coming soon

So what is the message from my universe? I just laugh!
So funnily enough, I found words on a recent trip with my two kids and my two nieces to a children's museum. I came across these words put together by the younger set at an interactive station full of magnet words, blackboards, chalk, crayons and paper.

Here are My Found Word Paths for Today

I love how in the one below we have to "imagine" the letter "g" and "i" in the word imagine.

Great advice. Just do it!

Just love this one.

This one goes without saying.
A shout out to the Flying Lessons Group.

Giggles here! I feel like this on my days I don't make art.

Lori did mention that we could find messages in magazines and here is one for me to share.
Another artist friend has this large jar full of magazine clippings of words she uses in her work.
On a recent visit this clipping is what I pulled out of the jar and it left me with a good laugh. Enjoy! Thank you for stopping by.

  1. Haha, now I had a good laugh! My found words would look pretty similar, I am as well in the countryside. "Vorsicht, Schlaglöcher!" is the most obvious one. (Meaning "Beware of road holes!".)
I am very inspired by words. And by this post: might do such a magazine clipping jar, fab idea.
Thanks, Deborah. Love your word paths and your blog!
